Editorial Policy
Hearthgrain produces independent, practical coverage of maker culture, studio crafts, and DIY woodworking or textiles. Our mission is to guide readers toward safe, rewarding creative projects through reliable testing and honest reportage.
Sourcing
Our guides draw upon direct workshop testing, material safety data sheets, technical manuals from tool manufacturers, and verified craft guilds. We also consult experienced woodworkers, textile artisans, ceramicists, and metalworkers to confirm fabrication techniques. We avoid unverified social media crafting trends that present fire hazards, structural risks, or toxic chemical mixtures.
Review process
Every tutorial undergoes an editorial check that verifies tool lists, safety gear requirements, curing times, and proportional measurements. Editors review steps to ensure clear sequencing and assess whether specific hazard warnings are adequately highlighted. When techniques require specialized ventilation or personal protective equipment, our staff confirms these warnings prior to publication.
Corrections
When an error appears in a measurement, safety notation, or material recommendation, we update the article promptly. We append an explanatory note at the base of the revised text detailing what was amended and the date of the change. Readers who identify potential errors in our DIY plans can notify our editorial team via our contact form.
Advertising and independence
Editorial independence remains fundamental to Hearthgrain Workshop Ltd. Sponsored projects or materials supplied by craft brands are explicitly marked as sponsored or gifted content. Commercial partners never influence our project evaluations, safety warnings, or critical assessments of tool performance.
